The Search for Mallory and Irvine By Peter Firstbrook After George Mallory's body was discovered on Mount Everest speculation on how he and Irvine had met their deaths and whether they had made it to the top or not. This book recounts their biographies and like many other recent books attempts to recreate their last hours. I found this book to be informative and tasteful. At the tme of Mallory's remains being discovered many publications ran stories and photographs that were exploitational, yet this book remains respectful of its two subjects |
