October 23rd - Aan upcoming free talk at the Pan Am Sports Medicine Clinic, 75 Poseidon Bay on , "Flus and Colds- Prevention, Recognition and Treatments" at 8am.
This will be an overview of the common ailments that afflict us this winter and a scientific and rational approach to what actually works. We will of course discuss the flu shot but more importantly simple things that everyone can do to avoid getting sick this winter especially since most do not involve any medication or treatments. October 1st - 7pm Dr Colin Briggs from the Faculty of Pharmacology will speak on Lathyrism. lathyrism
September 10th - 7pm Bramwell Ryan will speak on the Food Crisis in Zambia and his expierences there. Bramwell has worked as a freelance journalist in a number of countries including Chechna, Haiti, Mozambique and others. This talk will also include a discussion on Safety and Practicalities for travelers. This discussion is open to all with no admission. Location 264 Tache

Cruise Ship Blues, The Underside of The Cruise Industry By: Ross A. Klein
Our meeting was held on May 24th at the4 Norwood Hotel was widely attended by a variety of health care professionals. Representatives varied in their backgrounds and included nurses, physicians, therapists, police, military, and emergency personnel.
We also had volunteers from the University of Manitoba Medical School and University of Winnipeg International Development Students.
